Bathroom remodeling
Bathroom remodeling in Atlanta, from a shower swap to a full gut
A bathroom is small, but it is the room where water gets behind everything. We rebuild what's failing, waterproof what's new, and finish the walls and ceiling ourselves.
Calls answered 24/7. Crews staged from the Atlanta service office.

Quick answer
A bathroom remodel in Atlanta starts with what is behind the tile, not what goes on top. Georgia homes do best at 35 to 55 percent indoor humidity, and bathrooms run far above that, so rotted subfloor and mold behind old walls are common finds. We open, repair and waterproof before any new tile, vanity or paint goes in.

The job
What a bathroom project with us covers
Most bathroom calls fall into one of two groups: something is failing, like a leaking shower pan or soft floor by the toilet, or everything works and just looks thirty years old. We price those differently and say which one yours is.
New showers are built on a waterproofing membrane such as Schluter Kerdi, fixtures come from lines like Kohler, Moen or Delta, and walls and ceiling finish in a moisture-resistant paint.
What moves the price
What moves the price of a bathroom remodel
- Scope of change
Swapping a vanity costs far less than moving a shower drain.
- Shower build
Tile showers with a membrane cost more than a one-piece insert.
- Hidden damage
Rotted subfloor or framing found at demo is repaired first.
- Tile choice
Large porcelain goes fast; mosaics and patterns take longer.
- Fixtures
Faucets, valves and vanities range widely by line and finish.
- Ventilation
Adding or upgrading an exhaust fan adds wiring and ducting.
What we handle
Bathroom work we take on

Tub to shower conversion
The most requested change in older homes: a tub that nobody uses replaced by a walk-in shower. The tub comes out, the drain is moved to suit the new pan, and the walls are rebuilt with cement board and a waterproof membrane before tile. A low curb or a curbless entry depends on the floor framing, which we check first. It is also worth keeping one tub somewhere in the house if you plan to sell to families later.

Vanity and fixture replacement
A swollen particleboard vanity, a faucet that drips, or a toilet that rocks on its flange are usually one-day fixes. We pull the old vanity, check the wall and floor behind it for water damage, set the new cabinet and top, and reconnect the supply lines and drain. A rocking toilet gets a new wax ring and a look at the subfloor underneath, since that movement usually means water has been getting in for a while. Shutoff valves are replaced at the same time if they no longer close fully.
Bathroom tile work
Tile work covers floors, shower walls, niches and tub surrounds. Cracked floor tile is often a sign of a flexing subfloor, so we fix the structure before setting new tile, or the new tile cracks too. Shower walls go over cement board and a membrane, never plain drywall. Grout is chosen for the room: sanded or urethane on floors, and an epoxy option for shower walls if you want grout that doesn't stain. Every change of plane gets a flexible sealant instead of grout.
Full bathroom renovation
Everything comes out down to the studs and subfloor: tub or shower, tile, vanity, toilet, lighting and drywall. That exposes any rot, old leaks or undersized venting, and it lets us move fixtures if the layout doesn't work. It is the most disruptive option and the one that fixes hidden problems for good. If it is the only full bathroom in the house, we'll talk through scheduling before the first day of demolition. Venting is sized to the room while the walls are open.
Around Atlanta
Bathrooms in older Atlanta houses
Georgia's humidity is hard on bathrooms in any house, and above about 55 percent indoors drywall softens and paint bubbles. In Westview, where long-empty homes are being brought back, the bathrooms we open often have old leaks and soft subfloor that never showed from above. We plan for that on older houses: the demolition day includes time to open walls and floors and look before the new shower is ordered.

Questions
Bathroom remodeling questions
Yes. Single-item jobs like a vanity, toilet or faucet are common, and we check behind the old one for water damage while it's out.
Inserts are quicker and cheaper; tile gives more design choice. Either works when the walls behind are sound.
A sheet or liquid layer between the backer board and the tile that keeps water out of the wall. Grout alone isn't waterproof.
Usually moisture: a weak exhaust fan, no fan, or a slow leak. We fix the cause, then repaint in a bath-rated finish.
Yes. Demolition, haul-away and cleanup are part of the job.
