Around Marietta
The county seat and the neighborhoods around it
Marietta is the seat of Cobb County, a county that approved 152,148 single-family home permits from 1980 to 2020 and where about two-thirds of homes are owner-occupied. Around the older city center, established neighborhoods have houses at every stage of their paint cycle.
Many homes here have brick fronts with painted siding on the sides and back. We quote the brick and the siding separately, check the siding for soft spots and failed caulk, and leave the brick alone unless you want it painted or limewashed.
